Market Stall – Advanced Diploma of Children Services
Monday 9/5/11. Ten students in the Advanced Diploma of Children Services class have worked together to present a Market Stall event as part of their class project.
Coordinated by Barbara Galati, the Market Stall Project aims to give the students the opportunity to learn about and take part in a “real” Market Stall event.
The students were divided into 3 groups and each group was given the hard work yet fun task of create, organise and present their own Child Care Centre Stall to promote to their fellow students and staff members of MEGT Institute.
Aiko Shiga, Eva Andilova, Hoon Sook Park, Hyo Jin Park, Julia Koefender, Laurene Okumu, Naomi Sato, Surapa Pookkarat, Tatyana Grinkevich and Wassana Udomsuk were all assessed in the unit “Provide leadership in community service delivery” which includes the demonstration of their knowledge of providing an effective leadership role while promoting community work and maintaining quality performance.

“We enjoyed the process of this project. We had to prepare everything from the centre description, information, flyers etc. We then had to display the centre information to other students and staff members.
On the day, we felt very confident. Our activities and demonstrations went well and we understood what we were presenting, like in real life!
We received many positive feedbacks and we felt successful in this task!”
“We put a lot of planning and thought to this task before finalising this task. By the time we put all together, we knew that we were doing everything at our best knowledge! The process was really interesting, challenging and involving.
We had a great “feel” for the “team work” principles and how to share our ideas to make it happen.
Overall our presentation was effective and eye-catching.
We would like to thank our school (MEGT Institute) for this opportunity!”
Laurene, Milly and HoonSook’s testimonial:
“The day was really good and the feeling of becoming the Director, Supervisor and Room Leader was a great experience.
We put a lot of hard work in creating our Day Care Centre – Sunrise and making it real for one day.
Before the presentation day, we had to have regular catch ups, or better – meetings – to discuss strategies and the future implementation of Sunrise.
We understood well the concept of “team work” and the co-operation as well as the diligence in everything we do!
