Business Students Post The Scary Facts About Smoking
Students in the Certificate IV in Business at MEGT have taken on educating their peers about the health issues that most affect young people, and particularly young international students in Australia.
As part of their project work, they are undertaking digital media marketing campaigns to bring visitors to their new website, Under25Health.com. The site is designed to communicate important health messages in an approachable style.
Shocking smoking facts reported by our students include:
» China has an estimated 350 million smokers — that’s 1 in 3 of the world’s smokers.
» Cigarettes contain at least 69 carcinogens.
» Every week, around 290 Australians die from smoking.
Despite these scary statistics, many international students at the Sydney campus still smoke. Check out the cartoon drawings and the things that our students consider scarier than cancer or even death – like, “your breath smells really bad” …
To find out more smoking facts, and see what else the students have to say about the risks of smoking, visit Under25Health.com today.
P.S. Please encourage the students by leaving comments – and pass on this link to others. Every young person at risk needs to know the smoking facts, before it is too late!
